    Smart Move

So, it was 53 years ago today (July 6) I did the smartest thing I’ve ever done: I married Amanda.

    Truth…

Any story of fiction requires an element of truth to be believable.

    Reflections…

I’ve had a lot of birthdays come and go, and today I’m reflecting.
I clearly remember the adults with tears in their eyes when the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor.
I remember the MovieTone newsreels of McArthur returning to the Philippines.
I remember President Truman announcing the atomic bombing of Japan.
I remember the announcements (both), ending WW2.
I remember President Eisenhower announcing the new Interstate Highway System.
    I remember the Korean War.
I remember the Bay of Pigs invasion and the Cuban crisis.
I still have the UPI teletype page reporting President Kennedy shot in Dallas.
I remember the first man in space and the moon landing.
    I remember Vietnam.
I remember walking side by side with and later Governor Reagan at my dinner table.
Oh, I remember so much more.
What is painful, though, is living through American decay and destruction today wrought by liberals and Socialists to the country I love.
Sometimes I shed a tear for what is happening to this Republic at the hands of those who will not abide by the tenets put forward by our Founding Fathers when they established the greatest governmental experiment the world has ever seen.
