Congress Kidnapped

Apparently, congressional representation has been kidnapped in broad daylight. Legislation, offered by lobbying “good friends” usually goes with nothing more than a cursory perusal, if any at all by the individual elected to do the job for us. Two-year house members spend most of their time running for re-election and fund raising. The Senate, on the other hand, seems to be wrapped up in their own self-indulgent importance to take the time to study legislation. The result is likely sponsorship of bills none have read at all. A sterling example is the Affordable Healthcare act…ObamaCare. Dependence upon “staff” to make the solid decisions with no understanding of real constituency wishes is widespread. Is it because our citizenry has grown too large for real representative government? Or, are our representatives in both houses of Congress too busy with other matters to govern effectively?
